Re: Sons of Witches Campaign thread

OK, got your house all done.

Fist floor with the entry hall, common room, kitchen, pantry, library, sitting room, front and back porches, and the animal paddock and outhouse behind the house.

Basement, containing the rooms belonging to Harry, Okri, and Gerald, Dytadious' trap workshop in the basement of his tower, a root cellar below the kitchen, below-ground access to the outhouse and well, the locked and warded vault of cursed artifacts, and an escape tunnel to the river. There are also various small tunnels that the boys dug when they were younger, including one leading to Okri's mushroom garden, one to Harry's mine, one to Gerald's thinking hole, an attempt made to break into the vault of cursed artifacts (which failed), a secret entrance to the kitchen root cellar, and a small excavated area containing the headquarters of the Underhouse Society.

Second floor containing Clarissa's bedroom, Mother Sofilla's study, the map room, and Gob's bedroom, which he expanded by knocking out the back wall of the house. Note that the common room on the first floor is also seen here, because that room has a high ceiling extending up into the second floor.

3rd floor containing Mother Sofilla's bedroom and her alchemical workshop. The 3rd floor of the tower contains Dytadious' bedroom.

Fourth floor: Padion's bedroom, which is built around the central chimney of the house.  His room is only accessible by exiting through a 2nd floor window to climb onto the roof, then climbing up the side of the chimney, and going hand over hand across the bottom of his room to reach the door. Also shown here is the observation deck on the roof of the tower, with lounge chairs and fancy fruit and cheese spread.

Books:
1 book titled The Madness of Emperor Sheyan by Auno the Consecrator.  This large book describes an ancient emperor who ruled much of the known world in the age before the rise of the elves. It was apparently translated into elvish from a much older tome, because at several placed the person transcribing it added notes where passages from the original text had been lost or obscured. Sheyan was betrayed by one of his generals, Lord Habin, so he killed the man, then hunted four his soul in the outer planes so he could kill him again. Auno was a wizard who accompanied him on his doomed journey.  The book contains a great deal of detail on the lower planes and the Plane of Conflict. In the story, the emperor finally tracks down his enemy, and kills him, only to see his soul reform again.  Determined to destroy the man for good, he drags the soul of his hated foe before a powerful fiend who was said to devour souls to offer his enemy up for consumption. The fiend, a giant, bloated Nalfeshnee named Heckow, accepted this offering, but then declared that it was only fitting for both men to be joined forever within the fires of his belly, and then he devoured the emperor as well.  Upon returning to the empire, Auno found that in the emperor’s long absence the empire itself had fragmented into separate warring kingdoms
1 book titled The Light of Purification by Sister Milandriel:  This tome details a series of visions experienced by an elven priestess of Kavelin where she was guided by an angelic spirit through the upper planes and into The Nova Heart.  While on this journey, her guide shared with her the history of the gods of the upper planes. Near the end of the work the authors descriptions of what she experienced become more and more cryptic as she describes prophetic visions which she was shown of the of the future, most of which take the form of symbolic imagery that can be interpreted multiple ways.
The coded journal of Professor Onnaefil the Conjuror
1 book titled Guidance of the Ancestors: A guide to making divinations by the casting of bones.
1 book titled Wisdom of the Cups:  A guide to reading tea leaves
1 book titled Unlocking the Body’s Potential:  An advanced alchemy book dealing with potions that augment physical attributes of the imbiber
The Journal of Professor Spindwil the master of Enchantment and Fabrication Studies. It details a series of cataclysms that befell the school over the course of a year, beginning with a massive earthquake that flattened most of the city of Findellin, where the school was located. Almost immediately afterwards there was a huge flood that turned the lowlands to the south into a massive sea and presumably wiped out the capitol and most of the major cities of the elven empire.  The author theorizes that cataclysm may have been related to some accident involving the creation of something known as a Sammas, which was apparently a major pet project of the Emperor’s that was being undertaken at the Imperial College of Wizardry in the Capitol.  The Barrowbottom Academy survived the cataclysms owing both to its remoteness on the northern fringe of the empire, and the enchantments that protected the school. Unfortunately, the weakening of the empire lead to massive lawlessness and incursion of foreign barbarians, and a small army of escaped slaves, bandits, and barbarians eventually laid siege to the school.  The Journal ends with a description of how the school instructors were going to make an effort to fight their way through this ragtag army and take the students to safety in a city named Gwallyn that lies northwest through the mountains as past a large lake.
1 book on the history of the elven empire
1 book on herbal remedies for minor medical conditions, with a bookmark in the section on treatments for headaches

1st level: Identify, Illusory Script, Silent Image, Sleep
2nd level: Blur, See Invisibility
3rd: Major Image
1 book of erotic poems
1 book on the creation of transmuter’s stones.
1 cookbook full of ancient elven delicacies.  Many of the dishes in the book seem to refer to how to prepare animals that are now extinct.
10 volume set of Enciclopedia Necromaticia that goes into great detail about different types of undead creatures
1 book on the creation of arcane spell focuses
1 book entitled “Psychological Torture and Corporal Punishment, a Teacher’s Guide.”
A set of student’s textbooks covering the basics of all 8 schools of magic, plus alchemy and the creation of magical items
In Gerlad’s possession: Book entitled The Gods of the Northern Plains Volume 5: Fey Spirits. The book describes the Dragon of the Summer Wind, Fyrocco, and his eternal struggle against his sister Tule, the wolf of the winter mist. Their struggles are carried out by proxy though chosen champions, and every few hundred years they would battle over certain sites of power.  The sites were captured by each side were believed to control shifts in the climate that would hold sway until the next cycle. One such site mentioned here is on a mountain called Zarrun’s Peak
From the school library you were also able to salvage ~50 tomes that were still in good condition which deal with magical history and theory of magic.

Regarding your kind offer, I’m afraid I must decline to visit you at this time.  Things are just too busy right now here on Sharkfin Rock, what with all the local children then need to be lured to their doom.  I’m sure you are more than capable of dealing with that local herb gatherer who you say has been threatening you. If you can prove to me that you are capable of standing on your own against a threat like that, then I would be more than happy to speak to you about this pact that you are interested in forming.
Enclosed please find some hobbit toes. I know how you love gummy treats.
Yours,
Mommy Kelpbottom”

Re: Sons of Witches Campaign thread

Easiest average quick-split would be the free GP:
1000 from the beetles, 2230 from the feywild troll, and 58 from the ogre ambush = 3288 or 548 apiece

Everything else we would still need to take time to turn around and might go to identification services and the like, so easy to ignore for now.  And the split is different for anything before Padion joined so I am ignoring that.

That's what I'm operating off of for Padion for "cash on hand" and "in holding/at home" for now.  Until we work out the rest.
